Uninstall Obelisk through SSH
Use the complete kit to preview removal of one Obelisk installation, preserve its website in a private archive and choose whether to keep or remove its application SQL data. This procedure is also available after the trial or a time-limited license expires.
Prepare the kit and recovery material
Use the compatible complete kit extracted outside the website, even if Obelisk was updated through Administration. Open UNINSTALL.txt or UNINSTALL_IT.txt and run commands from the folder containing uninstall.sh. Do not run install.sh just to obtain the uninstaller. If your old kit does not include uninstall.sh, obtain a compatible complete kit from Obelisk support. A separate legacy removal script is not interchangeable with this procedure.
You need root access through an interactive SSH terminal on the Linux PBX, the complete original installation journal and the expected administrative SQL access. Resolve pending updates or recovery first. Keep a full SQL and file backup before removal, especially before choosing to remove application data. Replace /var/www/html/obelisk in every command if your installation path differs.
Read the preview first
The preview does not change the website, database or configuration. Read the proposed operations, retained items and private archive path. The utility stops if it cannot verify ownership of what it would change. A preview that stops is a condition to resolve, not permission to delete files manually.
sudo bash uninstall.sh --path /var/www/html/obeliskUninstall while keeping application SQL data
The command repeats the checks and asks you to type the exact confirmation displayed for that plan. It disables the identified Obelisk schedules and SQL events, removes only recognized installer changes from custom files and moves the website to a private archive outside the web directory. Ambiguous custom changes are retained and reported. Follow the final instruction for a FreePBX reload if one is needed.
Application SQL data, CDR, the FreePBX queue log and recordings are kept. The retained website includes configuration, secrets and uploads, so its archive must remain private.
sudo bash uninstall.sh --path /var/www/html/obelisk --applyOptionally remove application SQL data
Choose this only when you intend to delete the verified Obelisk application objects and their data. Run its own preview, review the full database backup, then apply the same choice. Removal is irreversible without your backup. If the application database contains foreign or untracked objects, this option stops.
It keeps the database container, SQL and AMI accounts, administrative profiles, FreePBX source tables, cdr.id, recordings and unrelated resources. The private website archive and previous recovery copies also remain. The website archive is not a SQL dump.
Preview data removal
Inspect the objects and preservation list before proceeding.
Commandsudo bash uninstall.sh --path /var/www/html/obelisk --remove-dataConfirm the same data-removal plan
Type the exact confirmation requested by the utility after reviewing the fresh checks.
Commandsudo bash uninstall.sh --path /var/www/html/obelisk --remove-data --apply
Resume an interrupted uninstall
Correct the reported cause, then resume with the same kit and original website path. If you chose --remove-data, include it with --resume too. The saved plan fixes the scope of recovery. Preserve its journal, archive and maintenance records; install.sh --resume is not an uninstall recovery command.
sudo bash uninstall.sh --path /var/www/html/obelisk --resumeKeep the final record and private archive
Website and archive must be on the same filesystem. Symbolic links, internal mounts or recordings inside the website require a separately reviewed removal plan. Do not move recording paths or bypass checks to force this procedure.
The private archive under /var/lib/obelisk-installer and the retained accounts and profiles require deliberate administration after removal. This utility does not restore the archive or automatically prepare a fresh installation at the same path. Keep the final summary for that later work.
