Administration & maintenance

Adapt your personal workspace

Use personal preferences on top of the administrator’s shared configuration to make allowed views easier to read and operate.

Obelisk documentation

Open Preferences

Open your account’s Preferences tab. The choices belong to your account and are retained for later access. Start with language and appearance, then work through the view-specific settings. Available queues and extensions already reflect the shared configuration and the access assigned to you.

Personalize the working view

Choose English, Spanish or Italian, light or dark appearance and the available button shape. Adjust layout and report table columns to the tasks you perform most often. These changes organize presentation; they do not change the underlying report data.

  1. Organize authorized resources

Arrange or hide the allowed queues and Monitor views to suit your team. A resource excluded by the administrator cannot be restored by personal preferences.

  2. Choose meaningful thresholds

Review available count and time thresholds, including waiting, inactivity, ringing, long calls and latency. Save the relevant section and check how the resulting indicators appear.

Choose the settings for each working view

Begin with the shared organization prepared by the administrator, then adapt the allowed resources to your own shift. Review one group of preferences at a time and reopen the affected screen: a language change, a hidden queue and a threshold alert have different visible effects.

AreaAvailable choices
Language and appearanceEnglish, Spanish or Italian; light, dark or automatic theme; Rounded or Pill controls. Keep navigation pinned when useful.
Dashboard and WallboardArrange or hide allowed queues, restrict the view to active queues and review alerts for call count, waiting time and agent inactivity.
VideowallChoose its dark display option, active queues and compact, normal, large or extra-large tiles according to the screen and viewing distance.
Extension MonitorChoose extension/name/manual order, page size, offline visibility and ringing or long-call alerts. Review table columns in their dedicated controls.
StatusSet latency warning and critical thresholds. When both are enabled, keep the warning threshold at or below the critical threshold.
Report presentationAdjust the supported report layout and table columns. These are presentation choices; report dates, filters and records still need to be read separately.

Understand defaults, overrides and resets

Preferences store your changes on top of the application’s current defaults. A setting you have not overridden follows those defaults. Resetting a section removes its personal overrides so that the current defaults apply again; it is not a restore of an older server configuration.

Reopen the relevant page

Check the affected view after saving, including narrow screens or a shared display if relevant. Sign out and back in to confirm persistence. If a table looks different, distinguish hidden columns from missing records by reviewing the current filters and column settings.

Reset only what you intend

Use the section reset when you want to return that area to its defaults; review the broader reset before applying it. Preferences complement Operational views and access profiles. If an entire page or resource is absent, ask the administrator to verify authorization rather than repeatedly resetting your layout.

Use the controls, understand what changes

Choose the view-specific section, save it and reopen that view. Personal order and hidden resources do not grant permissions. Resetting a section returns it to current defaults; report layout reset and report column visibility are separate choices.
