Status: inspect devices and connectivity
Use Status to inspect the registered devices behind extensions. Read model, reported software version, contact information and latency together when investigating availability or preparing maintenance.
Select devices to inspect
Choose an available group, search the table and use High ping only to focus on latency warnings. Set the results per page. Clear filters removes search and high-ping filtering while keeping the group. Groups also restrict the overview and map; the visible inventory follows the administrator’s Status scope.
Read contacts and versions
Identify the extension and each associated contact. Several devices or registrations may belong to the same extension, so a row count is not necessarily a user count. Compare reachability and round-trip latency with the configured thresholds. The displayed device/version information is what the endpoint reports; it is not an automatic certification that firmware is current.
Inspect the public-IP map
Open a map point or cluster to read the extensions sharing a public IP and their device/status details. Use the fullscreen control for inspection and Escape or Exit fullscreen to return. Public-IP lookup may open an external service. Private addresses and unavailable geolocation do not provide a usable public map position.
Find the correct group and personalize the view
Three settings work together. Operational views defines the shared organization and display names. Account permissions control pages and actions; its live resource scopes limit visible resources. Preferences adapts the authorized view to your work. Personal settings do not grant additional access.
Check the selected group
Select the expected section or group and clear any active display or state filters. Compare the visible items with another authorized view before reporting a missing resource.
Adjust your preferences
Open Preferences for your account and use the relevant display options. Save and return to the workspace to check the result. Ask the administrator about group membership, shared aliases or permissions that you cannot change.
Read an individual registration
Start from the extension, then inspect its registered contacts. One extension can have more than one device/contact.
| Indicator or control | How to read and use it |
|---|---|
| Contact and device | Check the extension/AOR and declared device/version to identify the registration you are investigating. |
| Reachability and RTT | Read registration state and round-trip latency together. A high RTT is a network-response signal, not a measurement of conversation quality. |
| Public-IP map | Open a point to inspect the extensions sharing the public address. The approximate network location can differ from the person’s location. |
Check a suspected connectivity problem
Filter the affected group or extension, record the current registration and RTT, and compare with another known working device. Open the map only for available public-IP data; private or unlocated addresses cannot provide a meaningful map point. After the network or PBX team intervenes, repeat the same selection and verify the updated status rather than relying on the old screen.
Example: intermittent audio
When several extensions report problems, filter their group and compare latency, registration states and shared public IPs. Record the affected devices and time before escalating to the network or PBX administrator. A high ping is a diagnostic clue; it does not by itself identify the cause of poor audio.
Use the controls, understand what changes
Group selection also narrows the summary and public-IP map. Search and high-ping filtering narrow the table; Clear filters keeps the selected group. Read registration, reachability and latency as separate fields, then open a map point to inspect the devices sharing that public address.

Registration diagnostics
Compare normal registrations, high latency, critical latency and unreachable contacts.
Devices by model and version
Compare desk phones and softphones by the make, model and firmware or software version reported by their registered contacts. The grouped counts highlight different versions of the same model and help IT identify the devices to review when planning updates.
Devices on the public IP map
Locate the public IP addresses of the visible extensions, then open a point to read the extension, device, reported version, registration state and response latency together. Coloured markers help you spot registrations that need attention and connections shared by several extensions.
The location is an approximate indication of the public IP’s network, useful for comparing sites and connections.
Full-screen IP map
Locate geolocatable public IP endpoints and inspect their registration state.
