The call map is blank or incomplete
Distinguish a missing map background from telephone numbers that cannot be assigned to a geographic prefix.
Recognize the symptom
The geographic panel is grey, or a map appears but some calls have no country, area or city. These are different symptoms. The report’s telephone geography derives from number prefixes; it is not GPS tracking and is separate from Status geolocation of public IP addresses.
Possible causes
A blocked map tile provider can remove the background even when report data exists. Missing or ambiguous number normalization, private numbers, an unmatched prefix or absent coordinates can prevent a geographic assignment. Country-level coverage does not guarantee a city-level position.
Check before changing anything
Keep the period and queue filters fixed and inspect one affected number’s source format and normalized form. In Database and catalogues, review the corresponding geographic prefix. If the entire background is absent, check browser access to the configured tile provider, normally tile.openstreetmap.org.
Take a targeted action
Correct a verified normalization or catalogue issue, or restore browser access to the intended tile service. Review a catalogue import preview before applying it. Do not invent city coordinates or rewrite customer numbers solely to make a marker appear; preserve unknown or approximate classifications.
Verify the result
Reopen the same geographic view and confirm the background separately from the sample number’s assignment. Check country, area and city levels without assuming equal coverage. Retain the original report filters so that an apparent improvement is not merely a different population of calls.
